Help Others

Help your family first. Your loved ones are most important during any type of emergency. After helping your family, go out into your community and help your neighbours. Some may need more assistance than others. Help these ones first. Such people include infants, the elderly, people with disabilities, and injured people. Try to give first aid to the best of your ability to those who need it. Do not move seriously injured persons unless they are in immediate danger of further injury. Rather than moving them, call for help, contact 9-1-1, and stay with them, constantly reassuring them that everything will be okay – this will give them more energy to fight and stay alive.
